Captain William Irving had this house built in New Westminster in 1865, when the city was still the capital of the mainland colony of British Columbia. He furnished it with the best that could be shipped to the West Coast. It's been lovingly maintained, and looks as if the Captain had just moved out. (One odd feature: a crack in the wall caused by a 1946 earthquake.)
